ARIF RAIHAN: "MARY JANE" MV
(2026)
ROLES: DIRECTOR, EDITOR
Based on the true story that insipred the song, "Mary Jane" tells the tale of a couple in struggle. Two people who love eachother dearly, yet their lifestyles clash harshly.
The video takes on a dreamlike format, focusing in on intimate moments where both people try and fail to reach out to eachother; showing them "taking flight" over the other and never quite being able to make contact. Though they care for eachother, the relationship is terminal and it is only a matter of time before things end...
The video was shot in London over two days.
IT CHANGES
(2025)
Roles: Writer, Director, Editor
Amy, a young nurse, as she heads to her Grandmother's house one night, only to find something is off about her...
A short horror film I crowdfunded and directed in 2024. This was my first fully directed and written project in a few years. Returning to my home town near Liverpool, the film was shot in my childhood home one last time before it was sold.
The film is currently being sent to festivals and has won several awards, including being screened at the prestigious Manchater Film Festival.
PREVENTION
(2025)
Roles: Writer, Director, Editor
London, 2031. With government surveilence going to a new level, DI Milo Keenan, is called to arrest a suspect before they carry out a potential shooting, however, things are not quite what they seem...
Prevention is a short film written and directed by myself. Shot in half a day, this project required a quick turnaround, with great cast and crew who helped make it happen on such short notice.
The film is a political one, based on real concerns about police surveillance and takes inspiration from works such as George Orwell's 1984 and Minority Report.
THE ENGRAVER
(2020)
Roles: Director, Editor, DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY
A 20-minute documentary I produced following artist Anne Desmet RA, as she creates her latest piece: The Engraver's Tower. The documentary shows her process, techniques and influences on her work. The tower represents her life, career, and everything that's made her the person she is today. The piece was commissioned as part of the celebrations of the Society of Wood Engravers' 100th anniversary.
